On October 8 the Mexican city of Monterrey hosted a new Symposium of Technology and Innovation for the Ceramic Brick Industry. This event organized by the ECTS (European Ceramic Technology Suppliers) was held at the Sheraton Ambassador Hotel, being the third held in Latin America in scarcely a year.

MORTE was part of a delegation of 12 companies and was represented by the CEO of the company, Marcos Morte, and David Bartolomé.

It was a really interesting day of which we want to highlight the presentation of Mr. Andrés Aranda from the Jalisco State Government who explained the situation and working conditions of the thousands of small Mexican brick producers, focusing in the areas of Jalisco, Guanajuato and Puebla where the largest number of productive units in the country are concentrated. His exposition was essential to know the current state of the ceramic sector in Mexico.

The attendees listened with interest to the information offered during the presentation made by MORTE focused on showing our hallmarks; profitability, quality and service.

To round off this event, on October 9 and 10 the ECTS delegation visited the two biggest brick plants in Monterrey; LADRILLERA MECANIZADA and LADRILLERA SANTA CLARA. We want to thank both brickmakers for their hospitality, care and being so kind in every moment.

Finally, we hope that this event will serve as a starting point for the process of technification and renovation that will take place in the Mexican brick industry in forthcoming years.
