MORTE RENEWS ITS INVOLVEMENT WITH THE PROGRAM LEARNING TO UNDERTAKE
In MORTE, one more year, we have renewed our commitment to the training of young people from La Rioja, collaborating with the schoolchildren participating in the Ibercaja Foundation educational project “Learning to Undertake”.
During this 2022/23 academic year, a total of 194 Elementary school students from 5th and 6th grades, from five schools in La Rioja; “San Prudencio” from Albelda, “La Estación” and “Sagrado Corazón de Jesús” from Arnedo, and “Vuelo Madrid Manila” and “Alcaste”, from Logroño have created and managed eight cooperatives, working in a multidisciplinary way in different subjects, carrying out the complete cycle of a company, from the initial idea to the manufacture and sale.
One of the characteristics of the program is its inclusive nature, since it has the participation of public, private, concerted and special education schools.
The main objective of this program is to help 10- and 11-year-old students understand from school how the entrepreneurial world works, promoting their capacity for innovation, autonomy, creativity, communication, and personal initiative.
At MORTE we are very sensitive to these issues and the importance they have in the training of our young people, and for this reason, we received the visit of the students of the CEIP “Vuelo Madrid Manila” from Logroño, with the purpose of bringing them closer to the business world in a natural way and to show them first-hand the operation and the keys of the internal organization of a company.
The finishing touch of the program was the School Cooperatives Market that took place in the outdoor patio of the Ibercaja La Rioja Center, where the students offered the artisanal products that they have designed and created throughout the school year.
