Production Director

Raúl has Talleres Morte in his DNA — and it shows.

Not surprisingly, since he was 14, he’s been visiting factories with his father and older brother. An experience that helped him develop a trade that he combined with his studies until he realized that the best engineering education he could receive came from working with his father, Santos Morte, and his brother Marcos. First by designing extrusion dies, then manufacturing them, and finally installing and adjusting them on the customer’s facilities. That’s the moment when all the hard work comes together, and the product the customer requested begins to take shape behind the die, perfectly suited to the required conditions.

In 1997, after studying engineering for two years, Raúl officially joined the company, but his training didn’t stop there. He worked in every department, mastering each process until he knew the entire production system in detail. In the evenings, he attended specialized courses in design, manufacturing, and machinery, fully convinced that continuous learning is key to ongoing improvement. His effort and dedication drove the evolution of Talleres Morte dies, which soon gained national recognition for their quality and precision.

Today, Raúl continues to lead production with the same passion and dedication as ever. His technical knowledge, combined with his strategic vision, allows him to make decisions that ensure excellence in every extrusion die. His greatest satisfaction is seeing how customers receive not just a product, but a solution tailored to their needs, backed by the experience and commitment of the entire team.

However, managing production at a company like Talleres Morte involves facing significant challenges. One of the toughest came with the 2008 crisis, when the construction market in Spain collapsed, taking with it 80% of the company’s revenue. In response, Raúl, along with his father and brother, made two key decisions: to retain the entire workforce and to pursue internationalization. In just one year, they managed to turn the situation around and began exporting more than 80% of their production, competing with the most prestigious firms in Europe.

The success of this transformation is based not only on the quality of the product, but also on the strength of the team. Raúl trusts every employee at Talleres Morte, knowing that together they have overcome tough times and continue to evolve with the same passion and commitment.

Despite his intense dedication to the company, Raúl always makes time for his other great passions: family, friends, and football.

Today, Talleres Morte continues to grow and expand into new markets. And although Raúl can no longer personally oversee each order, he remains fully informed, delegating tasks to both the technical office and production teams. Even so, he likes to personally enter every order, this way he keeps him in touch with the pulse of production and ensures every detail is under control.

When asked why customers should choose a MORTE die, Raúl is clear:

„When a customer buys an extrusion die from Talleres Morte, they’re not just buying a product; they’re receiving the full support and commitment of the entire company.“

As he himself says:

“Customers know their company very well, but at Talleres Morte, we know all the companies in the sector. We’ve faced hundreds of situations and have known how to resolve them. Perhaps that’s why I spend so much time on the phone, advising, answering questions, and sharing the experience I’ve accumulated over more than 50 years. Because quality is not just the die, it’s the trust our customers place in the MORTE team.”

After all, as we said at the beginning, Raúl has Talleres Morte in his DNA…and it shows.
